Sk8er Boiz. The 'skater' sub culture was first tied to the surfing sub culture. But it soon developed an image of its own when it spread to areas less associated with surfing. Skaters were initially known as 'rebellious youth' but that image has somewhat faded in recent years.
What was initially 'punk', 'dirty' and 'rebellious', has now been subbed with urban youth affiliated with 'hip hop', 'reggae' and 'hard rock'. - which is obvious in music videos. Not just lifestyle, skating is a talet and friendship across the world. People who don't even skate (that much), dress like skaters aka Lil wayne and Odd Future.
