Long haired headbangers like Metal head Zach can be found Moshing at your nearest field, O2 academy, or little basement venue somewhere.
Mainly made up of the youth it's all about alienating yourself from non metalers and throwing that index and pinky finger up in the air.
The real individuality in style started in the 1970's-80's and compromised of tight blue acid wash jeans,
or drill pants, motorcycle boots or hi-top sneakers and black t-shirts, worn with a sleeveless vest of denim or leather emblazoned with woven patches and button pins showing their support for heavy metal bands.
Around the mid-2000s, a wave of younger audiences became interested in 1980s metal, and the rise of newer bands such as blink 182, linkin aprk etc started embracing older fashion which led to a more 1980s-esque style of dress. Some of the new audience are young people branded as 'urban hipsters' who had "previously fetishized metal from a distance".
